Bodybuilding Tips

Some bodybuilding tips to help you along your path to body perfection

One of the biggest misconceptions about bodybuilding is that a bodybuilder spends every waking moment in the gym, pumping iron and flexing his muscles. The truth however is somewhat different. Even though bodybuilding takes great amounts of effort and dedication, rest is essential to give your body the opportunity to heal – and also build muscle. Muscle doesn’t build in the gym – as it repairs while you are resting the muscle gets built up, bigger. Here are some bodybuilding tips that will give you the edge.

Train with consistency and good form

The importance of these two aspects cannot be stressed enough. Consistent training gives you discipline and also gets your body into the shape you want it to be. Good form is essential if you want to build muscles that not only look good, but have symmetry too. While doing bodybuilding you should push your muscles to exhaustion, but you shouldn’t cheat and use other muscles in your body as this will alter the end result, and more importantly, you can hurt yourself.

Get the right nutrition

Even though you are training hard you can’t simply eat as much as you want. There are certain foods that should be avoided, for example saturated fats. Instead of three meals, rather have six smaller meals throughout the day – it will also help to keep your energy levels consistent.

Training Schedule

Throughout my bodybuilding career I would say a big challenge for me was to prove that conditioning rules and not size.

I train 5 to 6 days per week. I prefer to train 1 muscle group per day and I totally exhaust that group with 4 - 5 exercises.
