Building muscle is what Hennie Kotze is all about. He left his occupation in the South African National Defence Force in 2007 to focus his career on his passion – bodybuilding.  

As a specialist trainer and nutritional consultant, Hennie will be able to assist you with all aspects of your training from getting the programme that is right for you, to nutrition and supplements.  

If you have never exercised before and you start with a structured programme, you will see great results fairly quickly. To keep at this momentum you need to continuously push yourself, but with the good initial results you will also be less likely to fail on your plan.

 

Building muscle can be easy with these tips

First of all you need to determine which exercises you will do on which days. Hennie focuses on one group of muscles a day and trains five or six days a week. Good form is also vitally important, you have to have good stance, good form and full extension of all movements.  

When you exercise you have to completely exhaust your muscle – if you don’t you will not get the results you want.

You also have to focus on your eating habits. Rather than three big meals a day, have six smaller meals spread throughout the day. Hydration is also incredibly important – you cannot build muscle when you are dehydrated so drink enough water before, during and after your training.

Training Schedule

Throughout my bodybuilding career I would say a big challenge for me was to prove that conditioning rules and not size.

I train 5 to 6 days per week. I prefer to train 1 muscle group per day and I totally exhaust that group with 4 - 5 exercises.
